#10 Real Feminisms

Meet Billiam, a Youtuber who makes videos about toys. Yes, toys! But he just doesn't play with them, he explains their history and goes over the fad of the era of where the toy comes from. In this video, he talks about the company "Girl Tech." A company made by a woman named Janiece Swanson, a software developer, and toy inventor. Tiered by companies stealing her ideas, she decided to start her own toy company. She is basically responsible for the girl tech toy fad of the '90s. Proving that girls o in fact like science and technology just as much as boys do. I wanted some of her toys, and even one of my older sisters got one of the password journals for Christmas when we were kids. To me, these were just cool ways to communicate with other people, but these toys were so much more than that. They brought technology to girls who did not really have an outlet for it and were an introduction to software development. I would spend time as a kid trying to understand how the toys worked and how could I use them. I wonder how many people used these toys and ended up in engineering or software development. I suggest checking out Billiam's channel if you are feeling nostalgic for old or even new toys. He is funny and informative about the toys he reviews.

#9 We Are Back To Food!

We are back to the topic of food! Rather, drinks in this case. With the concern of surgery energy drinks and hydration becoming more of a concern to people; this video gives some helpful information about the importance of water. Though this is a video about a drink called Pocari Sweat, there is still helpful information about the importance of water. Is this considered pseudoscience like with Gatoraid? It is similar, but not completely like it. The problem with Gatoraid is when it comes to their scientific information, they imply that drinking Gatoraid is the only solution. In this video, there is information about the importance of water. There are advertisements for Pocari Sweat throughout the video. However, there is more information about hydration and the importance of water. The advertisement is more of information about what Pocari Sweat is. As of right now, people do not know what helpful alternatives to hydration there are. So I do find this video helpful and informative. The video is 5 minutes long, so give it a watch when you have the time.
